She Art Workshop

Love this above a bed! Great way to freshen up a room for the new school year.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that you and your loved one's have a special Valentine's Day together! I had planned to get my house all decorated in hearts this year....just didn't happen.  So I'll put those away for next year and put notes on what I was going to do with them for this year.  Or maybe I'll pull them out in August and get all my Valentine projects done in advance (or not as usually happens).  Anyways, here are some items I did get to this year.....60 Valentine's cards for school (my son wouldn't do them this year, otherwise it would have been 90) and a little frame.  Hope you create at least one item for a special someone in your life this Valentine's Day.

 I also had versions with pink die cut tags.

Both Valentine's were made with diecuts from Sizzix and stamps from Stampin' Up! 

 
Frame is from the dollar spot at Target, paper is Stampin' Up! and the Heart with the Shimmer Love is from Uppercase Living.  Added some bling and it was a quick easy project!

All of these were items I had on hand...so search thru your craft supplies and see what you can come up with...you still have one more day! 

Easy Princess bed

So my daughter has a birthday party tomorrow for a 7 year old girly girl friend.  Her mom got her all new bedding for Christmas but couldn't splurge on the finishing touch of a princess bed after all the bedding (who could these days?!).  So I happened to be at IKEA yesterday and wanted to get their version of the canopy.  BUT...they are sold out with no idea when they will arrive. (I suppose they are on the boat somewhere).  So, had to get my crafty on and come up with a different idea.  Found a cool light at IKEA and the curtain panels that are the same netting used on the canopy.  The light wasn't hot and had been on all day in the store....so my mind goes to a light canopy version now.  And here's what I came up with:

Here's what I started with.  I cut small holes in the tops of the panel curtain rod loop and used pink grosgrain ribbon to tie the panel to the light.

And here's what I came up with! It might need some little extras, like a pink satin ribbon to hang from, but I don't have that on hand, so I'm doing without for now.  The best thing is this:

1. Done in under an hour

2. My version is lit and $76 cheaper than the popular versions

3. Supplies: curtain panel, light, scissors and ribbon

4. One happy princess (I know she will because my daughters really liked it)
 
 

New Years Resolution.......

So I'm not one to be big on New Year's Resolutions since what's the point when you ignore them by January 3rd!....but here's one I am going to do my best to stick to this year.....update this blog a bit more often!  And look at date! It's not even January yet, so I'm ahead of the game!  Yeah for me....maybe a bit premature in my cheering (and for those of you who know me, I'm no cheerleader!) but here are some pictures I took of my crafting in December that I had wanted to post....hope this provides some inspiration for you!

Candy Cane wine bottle....drilled a hole to insert Christmas Lights. Used Uppercase Living vinyl expressions, Vinyl Effects, bling and Tim Holtz Distress Stickles to embellish it a bit.

Quick and easy gift! Chipboard (got mine from Uppercase Living), scrapbook paper, vinyl letters (Uppercase Living), and some ribbon.....super easy!  Just glue the paper to the chipboard, adhere the letters, and puch holes for the ribbon (use a crop-o-dile for easy punching).

 
  I love the vintage windows! Dressed this one up with some shimmer vinyl from Uppercase Living.  Yes, most of December was crafted using Uppercase Living.  I love it....so easy to use! That's all I added to this window and it looks great! (look to me to be your demonstrator of choice if you don't have one already)  Hope this gives you a spark of creativity!  I'm working on my 12 tags of Christmas from Tim Holtz, so hope to post those soon.....until then....Happy Crafting!

It's only paper, glue, and paint

I've always amazed how many people are afraid to try and create something on their own.  Let's be honest......have you put off a project just because you were too afraid you'd mess it up by doing it yourself?  I'm hoping to dedicate this blog to you! 

I absolutely love the challenge of creating things .... crafts, art, scrapbooks, decor, etc. 

If you can alter it in anyway...I'm in! 

If it's full of color....I'm in! 

If it has personal meaning behind it....I'm in! 

So I'm hoping you're in!
